Dalziel Menswear is one of the largest stockists of king-size menswear in the souteast and has been open for business in Woking, Surrey, since the 1930's. Having passed from father to son to grandson, the business is now run by Bruce McLaren and his wife Mags with an experienced and enthusiastic team.

Since the mid 80's, the business has concentrated on larger size menswear and is well known throughout the United Kingdom in this niche market. As the company ethos is to provide an excellent service and value for money to you, our customer, the option of being able to order and make a secure online payment has allowed customers from the "Highlands to the Islands" to make purchases.

Of course, that has to be backed up by the one and only retail location - York Road, Woking. The recently refittted shop now has more space to showcase a full range of king-size menswear including well known brands such as: Ben Sherman; Nickleson; KAM; Lee Cooper and Casa Moda. A full range of footwear (some styles up to size 15/16) from Dr Martens; classic Loake; super-comfortable wide-fitting Padders; traditional Chatham deck shoes; newly added Rockport shoes and sandals; trainers; walking boots, wellington boots and a full range of safety footwear (shoes and boots) are available to choose from.

A large stock of shirts, t-shirts, polo shirts, jumpers, slip-overs, jackets, suits, coats, trousers, shorts, swim shorts, pyjamas, dressing gowns, underwear, socks, ties, belts, cufflinks, slippers and footwear are on hand to purchase. An attempt will always be made to special order an item/items for you if it is not available in the shop.

Do come to the air-conditioned shop to check it out for yourself. The shop can be accessed from the parking area at the back of the building.

"The website doesn't do the shop justice" quoted one customer when he visited the shop having looked at the website. Come and see for yourself!

Family History

The business was originally bought in 1931 by Walter McLaren (Snr) trading as a general clothing shop with also household goods such as towels and bedding. A large element of customers ran budget accounts with a home collection service.

In 1953 the business went through another generation with Walter (Jnr) joining. The senior Mclaren died in 1975 and 1979 saw the next generation join in Bruce.

Over the years the business evolved and bigger sizes were stocked more and more, 1998 saw the decision to leave home credit market and concentrate on the kingsize market with Walter taking a well earned retirement though he still comes in on a regular basis for holidays and days off.

These days the day to day running is in the hands of Bruce and his wife Mags.
